Asbestos Removal – Avoiding Disruption
DateOctober 28, 2016
Client: Industrial (name removed for confidentiality)
Date: October – December 2015
Trade: Asbestos removal, Scaffolding and Industrial Wall Cladding
Challenge: Avoiding disruption to production.
Asbestos Insulation wall panelling, located at high level, had to be removed and replaced with metal sheet cladding from a busy working factory environment. The work could not disrupt production and specific safety control measures were required to protect all personnel from fork truck & HGV movements in the loading bay and warehouse areas. In addition, sensitive manufacturing equipment needed protection from damage and contamination from our activities
Work methods were designed to allow space for the factory to operate as normal by erecting our own scaffolding resources to suit the construction of the asbestos enclosures and to bridge over the loading bays and machinery. Following completion of the asbestos removal and dismantling of the scaffolding, Severn’s cladding team re-instated the wall panelling using profiled metal sheets.
All work was completed to the satisfaction of the client being safe on time and on budget. The client’s management team were impressed with how efficient the site team worked with minimal fuss and disruption.
